Totally Teen Genie is episode 1a of season 1 of Kuu Kuu Harajuku. It initially aired on October 3, 2016.

Summary

With the Totally Teen Award show just around the corner, Angel accidentally releases a teen genie from a bronze hoodie award, so she is granted three wishes which the girls use to catapult themselves to the top, or so they think.

Plot

250px|left The episode opens with Rudie and HJ5 waiting to hear the announcements for the "Totally Teen" Golden Hoodie award. Rudie is disappointed when he loses to Morgan and Macy under the guidance of their manager, Sammy Stars. According to Rudie, it's their 157th award that night. Sammy calls Rudie on his phone and gloats over his win. As Rudie hangs up, the host announces that him and HJ5 have won an award, and after rushing up the stairs, knocking out the host, and unleashing his giant list of people he wants to thank, he discovers the prize is actually for the most concert fails, to which Sammy Stars plays a sarcastic sad tune on his trombone and pulls a lever opening a trap door and sending Rudie and the girls down a chute.

Rudie is shown lying on a couch, contemplating that it was just a dream, however, the girls show him the golden hoodie, much to his sorrow, and beefed up that those events did happen, albeit a year ago. 250px|right They reassure him that they'll win something meaningful this time, but he doesn't want any part of it and would rather mope at home in his pajamas. Angel cleans off the golden hoodie by rubbing it, unleashing a genie by accident. She gets to make three wishes, and immediately they wish they could win an award at the "Totally Teen" show, but the genie tells them they can't wish for awards or for more wishes. 250px|left Angel then proceeds to wish they had a better chance to win an award by having new "Kawaii" outfits, but the genie makes their outfits into different types of fruit. 250px|right Their costumes cause them to get entangled within themselves and fly out of their home and accidentally land inside an art museum, where they're in the middle of judging artwork for a contest, in which they are awarded first prize. 250px|left Angel continues the string of bad wishes when she asks that HJ5 have the catchiest song on the chart. The wish is granted, however, it becomes really obnoxious and repetitive, specially when all the fans start singing it nonstop. The girls then proceed to hide in a trash bin in hopes they will escape from the song. In trying to find a silver lining, Angel mentions that at least they have popularity but, thanks to Gwen, pointed out that, despite being a catchy song, there was no guarantee people would actually like it. 250px|right Angel, completely ignoring the advice the other girls give her, uses her final wish to ensure that that they would have many fans. The genie gives Angel some cryptic advice before a rampaging group of fans, pushes the garbage container into a ramp which gets catapulted down a road which sends them straight into the red carpet premiere of the "Totally Teen Awards". 250px|left They crash directly into Mauve Madison, who recognizes them instantly. The genie reminds the girls they used their three wishes, and now she is no longer of use to them. 250px|right Angel discards the bronze hoodie award, but is quickly picked up by Sammy Stars, who is going to use it for his own personal gain.

The disgruntled genie returns and grants Sammy's wish to have Morgan and Macy become the biggest things on the planet, literally. The girls grow to the size of dinosaurs and roam through the city. Sammy attempts to talk to his girls, but all he ends up doing is getting stepped on. 250px|left 250px|right Watching the chaos from his television, Rudie notices the girls are in trouble so he springs to action. Using the golden hoodie, and with the help of the genie, he manages to rescue them while the giants are preoccupied in a photo shoot. Rudie proceeds to wish that Morgan and Macy were back to normal size and the girls praise him for being able to straighten out the genie which he claimed was by using his special "wheelin' and dealin'" method. 250px|left At the awards ceremony, Angel questions if Rudie is going to use his last wish to help him get an award, but he smiles and tells her he doesn't need a reward to make him proud, the girls already do that for him. The hostess announces that the award for "best rescue of a city from giant rampaging twins" goes to Rudie. He excitedly runs from the stands and accepts his award and begins a long, drawn out speech, much to the girls' amusement.

• This is the first episode for the American run of season 1 of the series when it premiered on Gwen Stefani's birthday on Nickelodeon in October 3, 2016.
• The above quote by G is a reference to a lyric in Gwen Stefani's song "Hollaback Girl". "This s--t is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S!"

Mauve Madison: Welcome back to the Totally Teen Awards! And now for the Golden Hoodie award!

Rudie: HJ5, come on! Please, lucky three-leaf clover, don't let me down!

Mauve Madison: The winners are... Morgan & Macy!

Rudie: [Groans]

Morgan/Macy: [Giggling, blow kisses]

Rudie: Agh! That's their 157th award for the night!

G: Don't sweat it, Rudie. It's almost impossible to win this thing unless your manager is-

Mauve Madison: Sammy Stars!

[Phone rings]

Sammy Stars: Rudie Roadbump, my main man! Thought you'd want to be first to congratulate yours truly on another win! Cuh-razy, huh? Good times! Ooh, gotta bounce - acceptance speech to nail! Fistbump you lates!

Rudie: Ugggh!

Mauve Madison: And the award goes to... Rudie Rhodes and HJ5!

Rudie: Who? What? When? Where?

[Crash]

Rudie: Wow, unbelievable! I never expected this in a zillion years! Lots of people to thank... [Ahem] I mean, of course, you don't win something like this alone, so of course, I, Rudolph Rhodes, am 'honored' to accept the... Bronze Hoodie for Most Concert Epic Fails?!

[Sarcastic sad tune on trombone]

Sammy Stars: Ahh, humiliated much? Oh, tough break, Roadbump - you're the worst celebrity manager ever! [Echoing]

Rudie: [Yelp, thud]

Music: Tough day at the office, Rude-man?

Rudie: I just had the worst nap nightmare! You were there, and you were there, and you were there, and we won a horrible award!

Angel: You mean this one?

Rudie: Aaah! It actually happened!

Love: Sure, but that was a whole year ago.

Angel: I'm sure we'll have an awesome time at tonight's show.

Rudie: Forget it! I can't face that shame and humiliation again. I'm staying home in my jammies!

G: Aw, come on, Rudie. So we may not win a big-time award. Who cares?

Music: I kinda care. [G glares at her] Um...no! Awards don't matter! What matters is that we support each other!

Angel: Sorry, just one. More. Spot. Aah!

Teen Genie: Okay, okay, I'm coming! Chill!

Angel: Yes!

Teen Genie: Whaddaya want?

G: A teen genie!

Teen Genie: Will you hurry up with the wishes? I don't have all day.

Angel: I know exactly what we want - to win a Totally Teen Award tonight and make Rudie proud.

[Buzzer]

Teen Genie: Eeh! Bombom! No wishing for showbiz awards, also no wishing for more wishes; I'm a genie, not a miracle worker.

Angel: Okay, then let's just boost our chances. Teen Genie, I wish for totally kawaii new outfits.

Teen Genie: Your wish is my, like, whatever.

[Poof]

Angel: What the what?! Teen Genie, I said kawaii, not Hawaii!

Teen Genie: You must be mistaking me for some genie who cares.

G: This suit is B-A-N-A-N-A-S! Whoa, so are these shoes!

HJ5: [Gasp, Screams]

Angel: I'm pretty sure I said kawaii!

[Music]

Albert Wee-ZELL: Hmm. [Humming] And the still life prize goes to- eh? Ahh!

[Crash]

Albert Wee-ZELL: Oh! Bravo, bellissimo!

Music: Great, now this will be a prize Rudie will really be proud of.

Angel: Okay, so for our next wish we need to think bigger.

G: No, we need to think about whether we should do this at all.

Love: G does have a point - historically, these scenarios tend to backfire and go horribly wrong.

Angel: Not this one. We wish we had the catchiest song on the charts!

Teen Genie: [Poof] Oh, what do I look like, a 'magic' teen genie?

Music: Duh, yes!

Teen Genie: Ugh, fine! [Snaps fingers, poof]

HJ5: [Over intercom] TGIF, gonna LoL, with my BFFs, ASAP!

Baby: Hey, that's us!

Albert Wee-ZELL: Oh, I love this song! Catchiest song on the charts! TGIF, gonna LoL, with my BFFs, ASAP!

Music: Ugh, my ears want out!

Love: This song is dangerously close to burning itself into my hippocampus!

G: We can't risk that! We need to get away from that sound ASAP!

Twisty T: TGIF, gonna LoL, with my BFFs, ASAP!

Baby: This way! We'll be safe in here!

G: Oh, no - an elevator! That means...

HJ5: Elevator music!

Elevator: ♪Thank goodness it's Friday, gonna laugh out loud, with my best friends forever, as soon as is possible♪

[Window breaks]

HJ5: [Screams]

[Thud]

G: Ugh, so smelly! But so soundproof!

HJ5: [Relieved sighs]

Angel: TGIF, gonna LOL... I can't help it, it's catchy!

HJ5: [Relieved sighs]

Angel: Okay, point taken about the wishes backfiring. But at least we've got a smash hit that people love, right?

[Crowd booing]

Love: Actually, there appears to be growing evidence that they might be turning on it.

G: Right, because the wish never guaranteed that people would actually like the song or us.

Angel: Of course, that was my mistake. We don't need catchy songs, we need a whole bunch of major fans.

Love: Angel, are you familiar with the expression "be careful what you wish for"?

Angel: Fans that will love us so much, they'll do anything...

Music: Angel, listen to Love!

Angel: Fans that will follow us anywhere! Teen Genie, I hereby wish it, so make it so!

Teen Genie: [Poof] 'Kay. Don't say I didn't warn you. [Snaps fingers]

Angel: Wait, you didn't warn me! She didn't warn me!

G: No, but we did.

[Crowd chanting HJ5]

Love: Maximum creepy overload!

G: Team, retreat! Back in the dumpster!

HJ5: [Gasp] Yikes!

Angel: Ooh, this looks fun.

HJ5: [Screams]

Music: This is coconuts!

Baby: I think I split my banana.

HJ5: [Screams]

Angel: This is not fun!

Mauve Madison: We're live at the Totally Teen Awards where stars are rolling down the red carpet in style.

Music: We're rolling up in a dumpster. Goodbye, award.

Baby: Maybe no one will see us.

HJ5: [Scream]

[Crash]

Music: At least we're dressed as fruit.

Mauve Madison: HJ5? Hey, girls, what's the haps?

G: We're just prepping our new song.

Mauve Madison: You heard it here first, peeps. HJ5's working on a song dressed as rotten fruit in a dumpster.

G: See, Angel? You don't need a genie, we've got all the magic we need right here.

Angel: But I haven't wished for world peace yet, or a three-level closet with an accessory conveyor belt.

Teen Genie: Oh, tough tiramisu. You ladies have used up your three wishes.

Angel: We only get three?

Teen Genie: Really? You didn't know that? [Poof]

Angel: You're right, G, magic schmagic.

Sammy Stars: [Evil laugh] Not on my watch.

Teen Genie: What, dude?! You interrupted my obviously unnecessary beauty sleep!

Sammy Stars: Teen Genie, I want my clients Morgan and Macy to be the biggest things in Harajuku. No, no, no, the biggest things on the planet!

Teen Genie: Ugh, I get it, I get it - your wish, my command and so on and so forth and whatever! [Poof]

Morgan/Macy: [Giggling] Huh? Ahh!

Sammy Stars: No, wait! Not that kind of big!

Morgan/Macy: [Giggling]

Mauve Madison: Mega celebs Morgan and Macy just became significantly more mega.

Sammy Stars: Hey, whoa! Morgan, watch out, it's Sammy, your main manager down here! I promised to make you a big star, didn't I? Well, then I- [Scream] [Dazed] I knew him when I was just small-time.

Morgan: [Giggles]

G: Girls, we've gotta stop those twins before someone gets stomped.

Macy: Mmm, fruit salad!

Rudie: Oh, no! Nobody eats my clients without my okay! Hang on, girls, the Rude-meister is on his way!

Angel: Swallowed alive by giant twins! Does it get any weirder?

Rudie: Hey, mega twins! Down here! Smile for the camera and say, "Big cheese!"

[Camera clicking]

Eago: Give Eago your good side.

Twisty T: Twisty's only got good sides.

[Stomp]

Eago: Oh! I'm gonna need a bigger lens!

HJ5: [Screaming]

Rudie: Gotcha! Teen Genie, magic the twins back to normal, now!

Teen Genie: You've got it, Mr. Rhodes.

G: Rudie, you're the best manager ever! And how'd you possibly get Teen Genie to behave?

Rudie: Oh, just wheeled and dealed like I do. I told her I'd get her a five-album deal.

Teen Genie: [Off-key] TGIF!

Rudie: Make that four albums, maybe two.

Angel: You got a flying carpet and a pair of downsize twins. What did you ask for with your last wish, Rudie? An award?

Rudie: I don't need an award to make me proud. You girls make me proud. This is the proudest moment of my life.

Mauve Madison: And the winner of Best Rescue of the City From Giant Rampaging Twins goes to... Rudie Rhodes!

Rudie: Okay, correction - This is officially the new proudest moment of my life! Yeaaaah! Rain check on the hug-a-thon, let's do brunch, air kiss, ciao ciao! I'd just like to say a few words. [Ahem] I, Rudolph Rhodes, was born to humble beginnings...

Music: Yeah, get comfortable. We're gonna be here for a while.
